Judge Grants Young Thug Permission to Use Atlanta Airport Amid Probation Restrictions

Young Thug just got some positive news as he continues getting adjusted to life on probation.

A Fulton County judge granted the “Ski” star permission to fly in and out of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This decision comes as Thug serves probation following his plea in the controversial YSL RICO case.

Under the terms of his probation, Williams is banned from the Atlanta metro area for the first 10 years of his 15-year sentence, with rare exceptions for a wedding, funeral, family emergency, or court-mandated community service. However, his attorneys filed a motion seeking approval for him to use the airport for “commercial air travel for business and other lawful purposes.” The motion noted that Williams’ probation officer supported the request, and on Tuesday, the judge officially approved it.

This ruling follows a prior modification to Williams’ probation in December. That update allows him to visit his Atlanta home for up to two weeks at a time, four times per year—provided he remains violation-free for three years, through October 31st, 2027. He must also notify his probation officer at least five days before each visit, with justification related to safety or privacy concerns due to his status as a high-profile public figure.

Williams pleaded guilty as part of a non-negotiated plea deal in the YSL trial. He was released In October 2024.
