Before the Super Bowl, Donald Trump gave a shoutout to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, calling her “phenomenal” and hinting at her support for him.
This came after she allegedly liked one of his Instagram posts about his GOP platform. MAGA fans took it as a sign that the Mahomes family was on their side.
However, just before the game, Jackson Mahomes, Patrick’s brother, posted a picture with Trump on Instagram.
If he was looking for clout, he got it, but not in the way he wanted. Many users took to his comment section to express their opinions on his photo op with Trump.
“Just a couple of guys accused of sexual assault,” one user wrote.
“Well, you’re both in good company. Go team ‘touching women without their permission.’”
Another wrote, “Being a gay Trump supporter is kind of ironic.”
“He doesn’t like either of your communities (Black, gay).”
The insults kept coming, “ This is why your brother lost with his 50% ahh.”
“Another Jackson L,” said another user.
Then the Chiefs went out and got cooked by the Eagles, losing 40-22. By halftime, Philly was up 24-0, and Mahomes couldn’t dig them out of the hole.
Trump’s endorsement might’ve been meant as a boost, but after that loss? Not exactly the look the Mahomes family was hoping for.
