Kim Possible Star Christy Carlson Romano Shares Grateful Message After Being Shot in the Face

Kim Possible Star Christy Carlson Romano shot in the face

Christy Carlson Romano is counting her blessings after surviving a terrifying accident.

The Even Stevens and Kim Possible star revealed on Instagram that she was accidentally shot in the face while on a clay pigeon shooting outing for her husband’s birthday.

“There was another party with us and they unsafely fired in the wrong direction and shot me in the face,” the 40-year-old actress wrote.

Romano’s husband, Brendan Rooney, quickly got her medical attention, and she was rushed to the hospital. She suffered injuries in five places, with one shot landing less than an inch from her right eye. While doctors were able to treat most of her wounds, a fragment remains lodged behind her eye, which they deemed “too risky” to remove at this time.

Reflecting on the life-threatening experience, Romano expressed deep gratitude. “With everything that happened, all I can think about is how grateful I am to be alive. I love my daughters, husband, family, and friends so much,” she said. “I saw my life flash before my eyes.”

She also thanked first responders and the medical team at St. David’s South Hospital in Austin, Texas, for their care.

“But [I] got to say I got shot in the face and lived to tell the tale,” she added. “Be grateful for every day.”
