A$AP Rocky’s trial is nearing its conclusion, but tensions in the courtroom are only escalating. During Friday’s closing arguments, the rapper’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, and prosecutors engaged in a heated exchange, as Tacopina repeatedly accused the prosecution’s key witness, A$AP Relli, of perjury.

Prosecutors immediately objected to Tacopina’s language, arguing that his statements were improper, but the judge allowed it to stand. The confrontation didn’t stop there—both sides exchanged verbal jabs, with the prosecutor even telling Tacopina he should be afraid of him.
This trial has seen plenty of tense moments, including Tacopina sparring with Relli on the stand, but Friday’s showdown marked a new level of hostility between the attorneys.
The jury is expected to begin deliberations either later today or Tuesday—court is in recess on Monday for President’s Day. Rocky is facing two counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon for allegedly shooting at A$AP Relli in a 2021 altercation.
While prosecutors argue that Rocky fired at Relli, the defense maintains that the gun in question was only a prop.
