Conor McGregor is fighting back against the assault lawsuit that ruled in his victim’s favor.

The UFC star has officially filed an appeal after an Irish jury found him liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in December 2018. The 12-day trial, which concluded in November 2023, resulted in McGregor being ordered to pay Hand approximately $250,000 in damages. Additionally, a judge ruled that McGregor must cover Hand’s legal fees.

According to a report by the BBC, McGregor submitted his appeal last Friday, marking the first step in his fight against the ruling.

Following the verdict, McGregor faced swift consequences. Proximo Spirits, the parent company of Proper Twelve whiskey, cut ties with him as a brand ambassador. Additionally, IO Interactive removed McGregor’s character from its popular “Hitman” video game series.

Despite the jury’s decision, McGregor has adamantly denied any wrongdoing. He has taken to social media multiple times to attack Hand and criticize the ruling, maintaining his innocence.

Meanwhile, McGregor is entangled in another legal battle. A Jane Doe recently filed a civil lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Miami, accusing him of sexual misconduct at a 2023 NBA Finals game hosted by the Miami Heat. The case, which alleges sexual battery, was filed last month.
