Travis Scott is facing a new lawsuit from a man who claims he was violently assaulted by the rapper’s security guard outside a Manhattan venue—but Travis’ team is calling the case bogus.

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, a man named Omar Muhanna alleges he was injured on August 17, 2024, when one of Travis’ security guards made violent physical contact with him near a concert venue where the rapper had performed.

Muhanna insists he did nothing to provoke the attack and claims he suffered serious and permanent injuries as a result. While the lawsuit does not specify exactly where the incident took place, Travis was in Manhattan that day for Fanatics Fest at the Javits Center. However, Muhanna claims the alleged assault happened a few blocks away.

Muhanna’s attorney released a statement saying, “Carrion Accident & Injury Attorneys has filed a lawsuit against Travis Scott and Cactus Jack for an unprovoked attack on our client, Omar Muhanna. Travis Scott was present for this attack made by a negligently hired thug working Mr. Scott’s security detail. The attack left my client forced into surgery to have his jaw wired shut. This kind of attack, which Scott’s crew may have a history of committing, is unacceptable and needs to be answered for. A celebrity cannot just come into town with their hired security and attack individuals without any accountability. That cannot happen, not in New York, not in America, and certainly not to my clients. Nobody deserves this kind of vicious attack.”

A representative for Travis Scott denied the allegations, telling TMZ that Travis was inside a restaurant at the time of the alleged attack and was not present for the incident.

The lawsuit does not accuse Travis of personally harming Muhanna, but instead argues that Travis is responsible for hiring a security company that employed the guard in question. Muhanna alleges the security guard had a history of violent behavior and claims Travis should never have employed him.

Travis’ reps blasted the lawsuit, calling it “frivolous” and insisting the rapper had no involvement in the alleged altercation.

Muhanna is now seeking damages, but Travis’ team appears confident that the lawsuit will not hold up in court.
