Ye, formerly Kanye West, and The Game are back with a new collaboration that nobody saw coming or wanted.
The duo recently dropped a new track, Tina, inspired by none other than Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, following her viral Spirit Tunnel dance on The Jennifer Hudson Show.
The randomness of it all began when Ye shared a screenshot of The Game sliding into Tina Knowles’ DMs with a banana emoji, leaving fans confused.
Ye then posted a clip of Knowles dancing, captioning it, “Game finna slide for the guys.” While many assumed the exchange was just trolling, things quickly escalated.
A video soon surfaced of Kanye filming The Game as he recorded his verse, officially turning the DM stunt into a song.
“I see my Destiny’s Child / DMing was stressing me out / Nervous, my stomach in knots / So I took a couple of shots.”
The song ends with a masked figure explaining the whole mess, hyping up how the DM joke spiraled into a song, then a video, and possibly even an album, The Documentary 3.
As of now, Ms. Tina hasn’t responded to the unexpected tribute.
