Tamika and LaTocha, both members of the legendary R&B group Xscape, have had their fair share of public disagreements. Tamika previously accused LaTocha and her husband and manager, Rocky Bivens, of stealing money from her. Additionally, LaTocha ceased performing with Xscape several years ago to seek out a gospel career. However, LaTocha’s emotional take on Chris Brown’s “Residuals” became more than just a vocal showcase, but also an appeal to her sister and ex-group.
“I miss my sister,” she admitted, even calling her removal from Xscape “insane.”
Rickey Smiley Morning Show host Da Brat invited Tamika onto the show to respond. While acknowledging LaTocha’s undeniable talent, Tamika questioned the sincerity of the public plea.
“She definitely ate vocally… but in real life, I think it’s a genius marketing strategy for her new music,” she remarked.
Still, Tamika left the door open for a conversation and hopefully healing to take place.
“My number is the same. The address is the same. So if this is real, sis, pull up. You know I’m cooking now—let’s do breakfast,” Tamika stated.
Tamika also urged everyone to pray for LaTocha, hoping they could move past their differences.
