Karen Huger’s legal troubles won’t stop The Real Housewives of Potomac cameras from rolling. Despite the 61-year-old reality star’s two-year prison sentence—with one year suspended—Bravo reportedly has no plans to pause production on Season 10, according to PEOPLE.
A source close to production revealed that filming will begin at the end of March, even as Huger serves time. While the network has not officially confirmed the season’s direction, insiders say the door is open for Huger’s return in the future, especially if her sentence is reduced. She has 30 days to appeal and 90 days to request a sentence reconsideration.
Huger, an original cast member since RHOP premiered in 2016, has remained a staple on the show, earning the title of “The Grand Dame” from her costar Gizelle Bryant. However, her legal troubles became a central storyline in Season 9 after her March 2024 DUI arrest.
Though Huger missed the reunion due to checking into a private recovery program, her castmates didn’t shy away from discussing her situation. Bryant even hinted at the possibility of filming a visit to see Huger in jail next season—pending production approval.
Some of Huger’s fellow Housewives have spoken out about her sentencing. Ashley Darby admitted to Tamron Hall that she “cried like a baby” upon hearing the news, while Wendy Osefo told PEOPLE she is keeping Huger in her prayers but believes RHOP will remain strong without her.
“With this group, we have found a way to navigate with her presence and without her presence,” Osefo said.
