Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy was arrested on Friday night in Williamson County, Texas, on a serious allegation of domestic violence.
The charge specifically relates to an assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation, commonly known as choking. Worthy is currently being held without bail in the Williamson County jail, awaiting a court appearance today. The 2024 rookie had an impressive Super Bowl LIX performance, recording 8 receptions for 157 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 22-40 loss. Worthy also made a name for himself at the University of Texas, setting multiple freshman school records and claiming the 40-yard dash record at the 2024 NFL Combine with a blazing time of 4.21 seconds.
In his debut NFL season, Worthy finished with 59 receptions, 638 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Prior to his professional career, he played for the University of Texas.Â
