Fernando Barreto-Hernandez, an Amazon delivery driver, is facing serious allegations of sexually assaulting a minor and a woman in separate incidents while on duty.
The Glendale Police Department (GPD) arrested him on January 24th after a December 2024 assault on a minor in Los Angeles. During a court appearance on February 21st, he was re-arrested, this time for the sexual assault of a woman in Glendale on January 21st.
Barreto-Hernandez is charged with felony and misdemeanor offenses, including lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 and touching someone against their will for sexual arousal. He has pleaded not guilty, according to CBS News Los Angeles.
Police confirmed that Barreto-Hernandez has worked for Amazon, Amazon Flex, and FedEx. Although he was employed by independent third-party service providers, Amazon clarified that delivery drivers are not directly employed by the company. The Glendale Police Department is now urging any potential additional victims to come forward and report the incidents to their Assaults Unit.
Barreto-Hernandez is currently out on bond, and Amazon has not issued a comment on the case.
