Drake is hinting at what’s next in a cryptic Instagram post that has sparked fresh speculation following his high-profile rap battle with Kendrick Lamar.
On Tuesday, Drizzy shared a carousel of photos, but it was his caption that caught attention.
“You know I grew up non-confrontational and always treated this game as a sport where my pen won gold, but these days the podium has been hard for all of us to ignore,” he wrote.
“I understand that this next chapter may leave you feeling uneasy, but I hope you see my honesty as clarity, not charity, that answers some questions—especially about the unanswered texts you’ve been sending me.”
While Drake didn’t mention anyone by name, some fans believe the message could be a subtle reference to Kendrick Lamar. The two rappers made headlines last year during their highly publicized back-and-forth, which began with Kendrick’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.” The exchange resulted in multiple diss tracks, with Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” emerging as one of the most notable responses.
Drake countered with tracks like “Family Matters” and “The Heart Part 6,” though public opinion largely favored Kendrick. The back-and-forth eventually quieted down, but Drake’s latest post suggests there may be more to say.
It’s unclear whether the message hints at new music, a final response, or simply a reflection on the situation. Drake’s recent performances have also fueled speculation, as he’s hinted at moving into a new phase creatively.
The post also comes after news of Drake’s lawsuit against Universal Music Group, alleging manipulation of streaming numbers for Kendrick’s “Not Like Us.”
