Benadryl Bottles Recalled

Arsell has issued a recall for approximately 2,300 bottles of Benadryl Liquid Elixir due to packaging that fails to meet child-resistant safety standards, creating a potential poisoning risk for children.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the 100 mL bottles contain diphenhydramine, an antihistamine that must be in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. While the medication itself is not defective, the lack of proper safety packaging could make it easier for children to ingest, leading to serious health risks.

The recalled product is packaged in a round, dark plastic bottle with a white label featuring “Benadryl” in blue text. A white label on the bottom of the bottle displays the recall code X003VRIGUL.

The affected bottles were sold on Amazon.com between July 2023 and October 2024. Consumers who purchased the product should keep it out of reach of children and dispose of it immediately. To request a refund, buyers must submit their Amazon order number and a photo showing proof of disposal to recall@arsellsupport.com.

The CPSC emphasizes that the recall is for the bottle packaging, not the medication itself.
