Wendy Williams Declares “I Deserve Freedom” Amid Guardianship Battle

Wendy Williams is once again expressing that she doesn’t deserve to be in her strict conservatorship.

During a recent lunch outing with friends in Manhattan on Friday, Williams spoke with Page Six about how she was doing.

“I am fabulous. I’m better than good, but have been accused of being otherwise. I am very much alive. I deserve freedom, darling,” she proudly shared.

Williams has been under court-ordered guardianship since 2022, and when questioned about it, she deferred to her advocate, Ginalisa Monterroso. Her brother, Tommy Williams, has also spoken out, insisting that his sister is “in great shape mentally and physically” and urging for her release from the guardianship.

In a video shared on Instagram, former producer Suzanne Bass called the guardianship “terrible” and revealed that she hadn’t heard from Williams in years, until a recent emotional phone call.

“Wendy sounds fantastic,” Bass noted, adding that she believes Williams is in a better state than many assume.

Despite the ongoing legal battles, the former talk show host continues to maintain her optimism and resilience. A source close to her confirmed in January that Williams’ health was improving, describing her as “still Wendy,” with conversations that remain “rhythmic” and an open mindset.

Williams’ family, including her brother, son, and niece, are rallying for her freedom, challenging the decision to keep her under guardianship.
