Following reports that he could face legal action for launching a scholarship in Caleb Wilson’s honor, Boosie has addressed the controversy.

In a tweet, the “Set It Off” rapper criticized the attorneys and Wilson’s family for alleging that he used the late college student’s name to promote his Boosie Bash at the Southern University Mini-Dome.

“It’s sad for this lawyer and family to say I promoted my event off someones passing! My event was promoted on Eventbrite since Nov. 14. This incident happened a week before my event was to take place! How the f**k can I capitalize off someone death for a concert. That ain’t me,” he wrote.

Wilson passed away on February 27th as a “direct result” of a hazing incident in which he was punched in the chest while pledging to the Omega Psi Phi fraternity. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with his death.

Last week, Boosie announced plans to launch a scholarship in Wilson’s honor. However, the family, who has spoken to news outlets, say they believed the rapper intended to contribute to an already established scholarship fund. This miscommunication led to Boosie withdrawing his support and labeling the legal threats as “the ultimate betrayal.”

“For ya’ll to say that ya’ll are taking legal action against someone who is trying to help ya’ll is a slap in my face and completely wrong! When keeping it real goes wrong. SMH BR (Baton Rouge) I’m done. Another money grab,” he wrote.

As of now, the family has not publicly responded to Boosie’s remarks.
