A vendor working at the Wisconsin State Fair Park is facing felony charges after allegedly putting Gorilla Super Glue in a coworker’s soda, according to a criminal complaint obtained from the Milwaukee County District Attorney‘s office.

Joseph Ross has been charged with placing a harmful substance in an edible item with intent to cause bodily harm. The incident reportedly occurred on March 20 inside an office at the Wisconsin State Fair Park Exhibition Center.

The victim, identified as JH in court documents, told police she had noticed a strong chemical taste and smell in her drinks over the previous two to three weeks, which had made her ill. Suspecting tampering, she installed a concealed surveillance camera under her computer monitor.

According to the complaint, the footage captured Ross wearing latex gloves and squeezing liquid from a small tube with a white nozzle into a Coke can on her desk before walking away. Investigators later found a pair of gloves and a Gorilla Super Glue container in Ross’ office.

During an interview with police, Ross admitted to putting a “supplement” in the drink. He was arrested the same day and is now facing a Class I felony, which carries a penalty of up to three and a half years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

In a statement, Wisconsin State Fair Park clarified that the individuals involved were vendors, not official fair employees, but confirmed their police department conducted the investigation and issued Ross a “No Trespass Order.”

“While this incident did not happen between State Fair Park employees and did not involve any patrons, we want to reiterate that safety is a top priority at State Fair Park,” the statement read.

Ross is currently awaiting further court proceedings.
