Tekashi 6ix9ine Ordered to Pay $250K for Skipping Howard University Concert

Tekashi 6ix9ine is once again in financial trouble, this time with Howard University. A federal judge has ordered the rapper to pay $250,000 for breaching a contract tied to a 2018 homecoming performance.

Newly unveiled court documents reveal that the U.S. District Court in Washington D.C. ruled in favor of Hits Before Fame LLC and After Hours LLC, who had paid 6ix9ine nearly $60,000 for the event. The promoters secured a contract and even filmed a promotional video with him.

The Howard University event racked up more than $165,000 in ticket sales, drawing over 3,000 fans expecting to see 6ix9ine live. Instead, he skipped the show and performed at Power 105’s Powerhouse concert in Newark, New Jersey.

In addition to breach of contract damages, the promoters sought defamation compensation after 6ix9ine claimed he never received the money. The judge denied this request, noting that his statement may have referred to his former manager, Shotti, allegedly taking the funds.

6ix9ine’s many possessions, including several pieces of jewelry, cars, and clothing, were recently auctioned off to help pay off some of his debts. This latest judgment is just the latest blow to 6ix9ine’s wallet.
