Harvard to Washington: “We Know the Law, Thanks”

A wave of panic has hit college campuses across the country as nearly 300 international students have reportedly had their legal status in the U.S. revoked without warning. From Ivy League schools like Harvard and Stanford to public universities such as the University of Texas at Austin and Minnesota State University-Mankato, the unexpected move has sparked confusion and left both students and university officials scrambling for answers.

The situation has grown more urgent with reports of possible detentions and the looming threat of deportation. According to several university sources and legal experts, students began receiving sudden notices from Trump’s U.S. State Department or their institutions that their visas or immigration status had been terminated.

What’s even more alarming: many of these students say the notifications came without any clear reason or prior communication, leaving them blindsided and desperate for help. Some have reached out to immigration attorneys in a panic, unsure of what to do next.

At the University of California system alone, officials are reportedly tracking dozens of affected students across multiple campuses. Legal experts say that they’ve been inundated with calls and emails since late last week from students confused and afraid for their futures.

“It’s terrifying,” said one immigration attorney who’s currently helping students navigate the situation. “They’ve been following all the rules, attending classes, doing everything right, and now they’re facing deportation with no explanation.”
