Sean Kingston Out of Jail Again After Paying $100K Bond in Federal Fraud Case

Sean Kingston is once again a free man—at least for now.

After being taken into custody for failing to post a $100,000 cash bond, the “Beautiful Girls” singer has now posted the required amount and has returned to home detention while awaiting sentencing in his federal wire fraud case.

Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Paul Anderson, was originally placed under house arrest after a jury found him and his mother, Janice Turner, guilty of stealing more than $1 million through an elaborate fraud scheme involving luxury items like high-end vehicles and jewelry. But earlier last week, Kingston was remanded back into custody at the Federal Detention Center in Miami after failing to pay the bond on time.

His attorney, Zeljka Bozanic, confirmed to TMZ that Kingston has since satisfied the bond requirement and is in the process of being released. “Mr. Kingston’s bond has been posted, and he is in the process of being released,” Bozanic said in a statement.

TMZ also reports that Kingston has now returned to home detention, where he is under GPS monitoring and has been required to surrender his passport.

Kingston and his mother were arrested following a federal raid at the singer’s South Florida home in May 2024. Prosecutors say the duo orchestrated a scheme that relied on fake wire transfers and forged receipts to acquire luxury merchandise without payment. Turner, who was described during the trial as the “nerve center” of the operation, was considered a flight risk and remains in federal custody.

The singer reportedly cried during the reading of the guilty verdict and pleaded with authorities to protect his mother.

Kingston’s legal team has attempted to paint him as financially naïve, suggesting that his involvement in the fraud was the result of poor oversight and a lack of understanding about his business affairs. Nonetheless, both he and Turner now face up to 20 years in prison per count.

Their sentencing is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
