LaTocha Scott Accuses Sister Tamika of Failing to Defend Her When She Left Xscape [Video]

LaTocha Scott and her sister Tamika have long had a rocky relationship, and now the former Xscape singer is opening up about their dynamic, which seemingly originated from drama within their group.

During a recent sit-down on NeNe Leakes’ new YouTube talk show, LaTocha spoke about being “hurt” when Tamika didn’t support her decision to step away from the group. According to LaTocha, she was the one who intervened when Tamika got pregnant, and someone from Xscape’s team allegedly wanted to remove her from the group.

“I remember when we were about to do ‘Understanding,’ the song was getting ready to come out, and she had gotten pregnant. And I’ll never forget. They were like, ‘Okay, we’re going to kick her out.’ That bothered me,” LaTocha shared. “I felt a way, but I couldn’t give up on my sister. You know what I told them? She goes, I go. That could have been my whole career. I wouldn’t have been sitting here. You wouldn’t have been asking me about Xscape. Because that’s the love and the loyalty that I had. So does it hurt to know that? Yes. It’s deep. Very deep.”

LaTocha parted ways with Xscape again in late 2022 as the group attempted a comeback with performances and an album. Much of this played out during the filming of Bravo’s “SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B,” where viewers saw Tamika accuse LaTocha and her husband, Rocky Bivens, of mismanaging and allegedly stealing money from her. LaTocha and Bivens denied these claims, though it caused a permanent rift between the sisters. In recent months, LaTocha has seemed to try and reconcile with Tamika, expressing her love for the singer in her “Residuals” freestyle. Tamika responded positively, with LaTocha revealing that they’d spoken afterward. However, unresolved feelings still appear to linger.

Later in the conversation, LaTocha questioned, “Where is my sister?” as she reflected on dealing with internet rumors about her marriage and alleged infidelity. She said that Tamika did not offer comfort during the time when people were accusing Bivens of having a child outside their marriage.

Tamika has yet to comment on LaTocha’s latest remarks.
