Tracee Ellis Ross Admits She’d Rather Date Younger Men Because They’re More Accepting [Video]

Tracee Ellis Ross is not afraid to embrace her cougar era.

The “Black-ish” star recently opened up about her evolving love life, revealing a preference for younger men because they offer something much deeper.

“A lot of men my age are steeped in a toxic masculinity,” Tracee shared on Michelle Obama’s and Craig Robinson’s “IMO” podcast.

“I did enough of it where I was controlled and felt like I was a possession or a prize…I just have no interest in it, and I will not do it again,” she explained to the brother and sister.

The 52-year-old acknowledged a stark contrast, with the younger guys being much more open to societal shifts.

“Sometimes, it came down to something as simple as being accepting of gender fluidity and homosexuality.”

She’s also done trying to “teach somebody or grow them up,” adding, “That, I’m not interested in.”

Having built a full, vibrant life on her own terms, Ross now values organic connections.

“I do date, and it’s a fascinating adventure out there,” she said. “I’m a very unique sort of unicorn of a woman…I’ve really learned how to live my life and enjoy it and not sit around waiting.”

Even as she celebrates independence, Ross admits she reflects on the things she didn’t have.

“I grieve the things that I thought would be and that are not. I’m not married. I don’t have children…But I still wouldn’t want the wrong partner,” the “Girlfriends” actress explained.

As she puts it, she’s part of “one of the first generations of choice,” and she’s choosing herself.
