As Diddy’s trial nears, more information is being made available about his victims, including an alleged medical procedure one was forced to undergo.
In a New York City courtroom Friday, the subject arose as the prosecution discussed presenting evidence about an unidentified procedure. A federal prosecutor told the judge these procedures go “directly to the degree of control [Diddy] had over her, consent to specific sexual acts…It’s relevant to these questions on coercion.”
The judge asked whether the procedure ties into the sex trafficking charges, and the prosecution confirmed it does. However, it’s still unclear which of the alleged victims is involved or what exactly the procedure entailed. In Cassie’s past lawsuit against the mogul, she accused him of forcing her to get breast implants but wanted them removed the following day. It’s unclear if she is the victim in question or if Diddy required this from another accuser.
The singer is expected to testify using her real name, along with three other women who will use pseudonyms. The hearing also addressed surveillance video showing the Bad Boy founder assaulting Cassie. While Diddy’s team raised concerns about the accuracy of the footage, prosecutors said the person who recorded it on an iPhone will testify, and they intend to submit that version.
Arguments were also made over audio from a 2011 911 call, where Diddy allegedly broke into a woman’s home. No ruling was made on its admissibility.
The trial is set to begin on May 5th. Diddy has pleaded not guilty to charges of sex trafficking, prostitution, transport, and racketeering.
