Lyndell “Lynn” Price, former owner of the now-closed Turkey Leg Hut in Third Ward, has been arrested in connection with the June 2020 explosion at Houston’s Bar 5015, an act authorities have deemed “intentionally set.”

U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei confirmed the indictment, which also includes Armani Williams, 27, and John Lee Price, 39. The three appeared before a magistrate judge, though Lynn’s bond was not set.
The indictment alleges that Lynn Price, who also owned the Oyster Hut, conspired with the others to set fire to the bar, which was owned by Steven Rodgers, a former business partner at the Turkey Leg Hut. On June 12th, 2020, the group allegedly poured gasoline on the bar’s entrance and ignited it, causing the building to explode. Price is accused of paying them for their actions. Former Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena confirmed that multiple gas containers were found at the scene.
Steven Rodgers, in a past interview with ABC13, described his reaction as “disbelief.” The bar has since been restored and is operational again.
Price has faced other legal issues, including a $4.7 million debt and a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing related to the Turkey Leg Hut. Additionally, he is connected to an April 2020 arson involving a stolen 1975 Chevy Nova.
All defendants face charges of conspiracy and arson, with potential sentences up to 20 years in prison and fines up to $250,000.
