Not long after Shedeur Sanders was selected by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday, his brother Shilo also secured an NFL spot as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Shilo, ranked CBS Sports’ No. 382 overall prospect and No. 29 safety, began his college career at South Carolina before following his father to Jackson State and eventually Colorado. Over two seasons with the Buffaloes, Shilo tallied 137 tackles, three tackles for loss, five passes defensed, and one interception in 21 games.
In Tampa, Shilo will have the chance to compete alongside top defensive backs like Antoine Winfield Jr. and Jamel Dean. The Buccaneers also drafted cornerbacks Benjamin Morrison and Jacob Parrish in Day 2, adding further competition to the defensive backfield.
It was an emotional weekend for the Sanders family, especially after Shedeur’s unexpected draft slide. However, both brothers now have clear paths forward, marking a significant moment in the family’s football journey.
