Shannon Sharpe’s $50M Lawsuit Stalls After Accuser’s No-Show at Court Hearing

The lawyer representing the woman suing Shannon Sharpe for sexual assault says they will not release a video that reportedly shows the two having sex, calling it critical evidence for the case.

Attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the accuser using the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” told TMZ Sports they have no plans to make the footage public. According to Buzbee, the only reason the video’s existence is even known is because Sharpe himself mentioned it in a public statement. Buzbee says the tape was shared during private mediation discussions, and although Sharpe was offered multiple chances to view the full video, he declined.

Sharpe had addressed the video publicly just days after the lawsuit was filed, describing it as a heavily edited 30-second clip designed to make him look guilty. He challenged Buzbee to release the full, unedited recording, which he claims should be closer to 10 minutes long.

The lawsuit, filed earlier this month, accuses the former NFL star of raping Jane Doe multiple times near the end of their nearly two-year relationship. She’s seeking $50 million in damages. Sharpe and his legal team have strongly denied the accusations, calling the lawsuit a “shakedown” attempt.

In the wake of the lawsuit, Sharpe has stepped away from his role at ESPN and pledged to fight what he describes as “false and disruptive allegations.”
