Prosecutors Seize Unreleased Lil Durk Track They Say Justifies Keeping Him Behind Bars

Federal prosecutors say they’ve “seized” an unreleased Lil Durk track that “corroborates” their argument to keep the rapper behind bars.

Durk is currently jailed on a murder-for-hire charge tied to the death of Quando Rondo’s cousin, Saviay’a Robinson, also known as Lul Pab. A superseding indictment from November accuses Durk of having “conspired with others to murder a rival rapper.” Prosecutors identify the alleged target as “T.B.,” presumed to be Quando Rondo, real name Tyquian Bowman.

Earlier this month, Durk’s lawyers blamed YouTube “fan pages” for circulating lyrics used by the government, arguing the version of “Wonderful Wayne and Jackie Boy” wasn’t released by Durk himself. They also disputed the timeline of when the lyrics were written.

But in an April 28th court filing, the government said Durk’s bid for release “fails.” Prosecutors claim his team ignored issues of “flight risk and danger” and failed to present “new information that has a material bearing” on the case.

To support their stance, they cite another track, “Scoom His A**,” which prosecutors say has not been officially released. Still, they argue, its lyrics “corroborate defendant’s danger.” They highlight lines about “riding through Beverly Hills with choppers” and referring to himself as a “bounty hunter,” saying the lyrics resemble the murder-for-hire plot that claimed Pab’s life.

The feds say the audio was “seized…from a co-conspirator’s cellular phone pursuant to a federal search warrant.” Durk’s legal team is seeking either release on bond or dismissal of the indictment. A judge has not yet ruled.
