Rising rapper Asianae is swimming into new levels and she stopped by The Baller Alert Show to chop it up with Ferrari Simmons and BT. Repping her fanbase proudly as the Mermaid Gang, Asianae brought good vibes and big energy while sharing updates on her music, mental health, and more.
When asked about her viral catchphrase “It’s water,” Asianae said it’s all part of her Mermaid Gang movement, which is all about flowing through life no matter what comes your way. “Mermaid Gang just kind of mean like just keep swimming through life. You know what I’m saying? No matter what, just keep swimming,” she said.
Fresh off the release of her long-awaited project Hurricane Aae, she opened up about the delay and how being told her original version “wasn’t better than her first mixtape” only pushed her to level up. That grind led to bangers like “Tonight” featuring Waka Flocka and her current single “Roller Coaster.” She broke down the story behind the track, sharing how the lyrics came after someone questioned if her body was real at the club. “I ain’t never got a BBL in my life. This is cornbread fed, all 100%,” she said proudly.
Though she’s not in a relationship, Asianae admitted she’s dating and keeping her options open. When asked to shout out a crush during the “Do You Like Me” segment, she kept it playful: “May the best player win.”
Asianae also let it be known that she doesn’t give out second chances when it comes to disloyalty. “You got me f***ed up thinking you can play with me and think we gonna be back cool,” she said bluntly. “Play with me once, I’m done.”
The Atlanta rapper also got real about her mental health journey, sharing that therapy helped her process life’s challenges. “I just kind of know how to deal with situations and find solutions in every problem,” she said, encouraging others to give therapy a try.
Still independent, Asianae says she’s open to major label deals if it makes sense, but for now she’s focused on staying consistent, performing at a high level, and leveling up personally and professionally.
Her final shoutout said it all: “Shout out to me for continuing to show up for myself every single day.”
Stream Hurricane Aae now on all platforms and keep up with Asianae’s journey.
