WNBA superstar Skylar Diggins quietly pulled the plug on her marriage back in March.
TMZ reported that the Seattle Storm guard filed for divorce from former Notre Dame football player Daniel Smith on March 26th, citing the marriage as “irretrievably broken.” According to court documents, the couple, who tied the knot in Chicago in April 2017, had been separated since November 2024. Diggins and Smith share two children, a six-year-old and a two-year-old.
Earlier this week, Diggins addressed the media and made it clear she no longer wanted to be referred to by her hyphenated name.
“I no longer want Smith included when referencing my name,” she stated, without elaborating on the reason behind the change.
While the announcement hinted at personal shifts, Diggins remained upbeat in tone. She emphasized her priorities now revolve around “being a good mother and teammate…as well as a valuable member of the community.”
It’s unclear what transpired between Diggins and Smith, though both have remained quiet regarding the reason for their split.
