Federal prosecutors are facing a major challenge in their high-profile sex trafficking case against Diddy, revealing that one of their key alleged victims may not take the stand at all.
During jury selection this week, lead prosecutor Maurene Comey acknowledged that “Victim 3”, a former girlfriend of Diddy who is named in the federal indictment, has never agreed to testify and has been uncooperative since the investigation began. Comey admitted in open court that the prosecution doesn’t know whether the woman will even show up, despite being subpoenaed.
According to sources with direct knowledge, the woman has consistently made it clear she did not want to be involved in the case. She reportedly has not cooperated with authorities and has provided no indication that she is willing to testify under any circumstances.
This raises questions about why prosecutors chose to include her in the indictment and how they plan to navigate her potential absence during trial. If she is mentioned during opening statements and ultimately does not appear, it could undermine part of the prosecution’s narrative in front of the jury.
Prosecutors are expected to wait until later in the trial to address her story in detail, but even that could be risky. Describing her as a victim of sex trafficking without her testimony to back it up may complicate the government’s case.
“Victim 3” is one of four women listed in the federal indictment. Three of them are former romantic partners of Diddy. Cassie, long understood to be “Victim 1,” is reportedly in New York and expected to testify under her own name. She has already been spotted publicly, visibly pregnant, though no date has been confirmed for her appearance in court.
Meanwhile, “Victim 2” is expected to testify anonymously about her alleged financial dependence, emotional isolation, and the coercive control Diddy maintained over her during their relationship.
The trial, which includes explosive allegations of sex trafficking, coercion, financial control, and abuse, is set to unfold over multiple phases. With federal prosecutors signaling that “Victim 3” may never be heard from, they now face a crucial decision: whether to introduce her at all or risk drawing attention to her absence.
