After Misa Hylton was seen entering the federal courthouse in Manhattan earlier this week using a walker, the fashion icon’s legal team is clearing up speculation about her appearance and the reason she’s attending Sean “Diddy” Combs’ criminal trial.
Hylton was spotted on Monday, May 12, and again on Tuesday, walking into the Daniel Patrick Moynihan United States Courthouse with her and Diddy’s son, Justin Combs. The two arrived amid the chaos of opening statements and increased media attention as the trial got underway. Social media quickly took notice of Hylton’s presence — and her temporary use of a medical walker — prompting questions and concern online.
Now, Hylton’s attorney Nicholas Ramcharitar is setting the record straight.
“Misa’s appearance and her attendance at Mr. Combs’ trial is strictly in support of her son Justin and his siblings,” Ramcharitar said in a statement to USA Today. “During the course of these allegations against Mr. Combs, it has proven to be a very challenging and difficult time for all involved — especially his children.”
He also addressed the walker directly, explaining that Hylton is recovering from a personal injury and is temporarily using the mobility aid while she heals. On Monday, Hylton herself shared an Instagram Story showing a medical boot on her leg, quietly confirming the injury to her followers.
Though she’s remained silent during court proceedings, Hylton previously spoke out after a 2016 video surfaced in late 2023 showing Diddy assaulting his former partner, Cassie Ventura, in a Los Angeles hotel. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she expressed heartbreak for Cassie and reflected on her own trauma, writing, “I know exactly how she feels.”
While Diddy faces serious charges — including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution — Hylton’s courtroom presence this week was not about defending her ex. Instead, it was a visible show of strength and support for their son during a high-profile moment in his family’s life.
Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The trial is expected to continue in the weeks ahead.
