After two decades of serving only crinkle-cut fries, Shake Shack is expanding its side game, with crispy fried pickles.
Starting this summer, the fast-casual favorite is offering fried pickles as a new menu item, marking the first side dish addition in the brand’s 20-year history. Priced at $3.99, the fried pickles are available à la carte or as an add-on to any burger or sandwich.
The move comes after strong customer demand. According to Shake Shack, one-third of guests who tried their seasonal BBQ items in 2024 said they loved the fried pickle topping, and a similar portion of quick service restaurant (QSR) consumers reported wanting more side options beyond just fries.
The fried pickles are made with Shake Shack’s signature dill pickles, which are brined in-house, lightly battered, seasoned, and fried to a golden crisp. They’re served with a side of the restaurant’s house-made Shack Ranch, made specifically for dipping.
