Jaheim Arrested Again on Animal Cruelty Charges in Georgia

Jaheim

R&B singer Jaheim, best known for early 2000s hits like “Put That Woman First” and “Fabulous,” has once again found himself facing legal trouble. Channel 2 Action News reports the Grammy-nominated artist was arrested on May 1 in Fulton County, Georgia, and charged with six counts of animal cruelty.

Court documents allege that Jaheim failed to provide adequate water, sanitary conditions, and proper ventilation for several dogs in his care. The dogs involved in the case are reportedly named Tweet, Tip, Taka, Tink, Timber, and Tanger. He was released from jail the following day.

This isn’t Jaheim’s first run-in with the law regarding animal welfare. In September 2021, he was arrested in Hillsborough, New Jersey, after police discovered 15 dogs living in dangerous and unsanitary conditions at his home. Officers initially responded to a call about a dog in distress and found multiple dogs crated outside in extreme conditions. One dog was in such poor health it had to be euthanized. Authorities found nine additional dogs inside the home, many of them emaciated and without food or water.

At that time, Jaheim was charged with third-degree animal cruelty and several counts of failure to provide necessary care. That case brought heavy criticism from the public and animal rights advocates alike, especially given the graphic nature of the findings.
