New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson is facing serious accusations from a former girlfriend who filed a civil complaint in Los Angeles, alleging rape and repeated abuse during their five-year relationship.
Filed Thursday, the complaint claims the relationship began in 2018 when Williamson was at Duke and turned violent by 2020. The woman, who remains unnamed, accuses Williamson of multiple acts of rape, strangulation, and physical violence.
According to court documents, on September 23rd, 2020, she “was picked up from a hotel and taken to Williamson’s home” in Beverly Hills. She says she told him she was tired and wanted to sleep, but “he demanded they have sex.” The complaint states, “Williamson raped her and took her phone for several hours.”
The woman details a second alleged rape on October 10th, 2020, saying she was preparing to visit a friend when Williamson “became angry and forced her to the ground, raping her for a second time.” She claims he took her phone and laptop afterward.
The filing also accuses him of strangling her, issuing death threats against her and her family, and physically assaulting her—“being kicked, being slammed with a car door, and suffocation until she lost consciousness.”
The alleged abuse spanned California, Louisiana, and Texas until their breakup in 2023. She’s now seeking emotional and financial damages and is represented by the Lanier Law Firm.
No responses yet from the Pelicans, Williamson’s agent, or the law firm. A previous incident involving another woman linked to Williamson ended in a stalking arrest last month.
