Rod Wave Sued After Stampede at 2024 Sacramento Concert Leaves 5 Injured, Including 6-Year-Old

Rod Wave has been hit with a lawsuit stemming from a stampede outside of his 2024 Sacramento concert.

The complaint, filed in Sacramento Superior Court earlier this month, claims five people, including a 6-year-old, suffered serious injuries while waiting to enter Golden 1 Center last October. The plaintiffs, all from Nevada, allege they were left in a “poorly managed and overcrowded area outside the arena.”

Court documents say the crowd became unruly, triggering a “disturbance” that led to panic and a stampede. “A stampede ensued and five people were trampled, suffering severe physical and emotional injuries,” the lawsuit reads.

This was the same Rod Wave concert that was abruptly canceled after fireworks were mistaken for gunfire. According to prior reports, panic erupted when loud bursts were heard, and police dispatches recorded an officer reporting that a “count of hundred” people were seen fleeing toward the west side of downtown plaza.

Sean Shriver, attorney for the plaintiffs, declined to comment, saying the matter “is currently before the courts.”

Golden 1 Center has yet to issue a statement in response to the claims. Notably, the City of Sacramento, which co-owns the arena, is not named in the lawsuit.

The legal fallout adds to the controversy surrounding the event, which was supposed to be a night of music but ended in chaos and injury. This is the latest legal drama that Rod faces. Earlier this month, he was arrested for aggravated assault and more in Georgia.
