The New Orleans icon is back with his highly anticipated album “Tha Carter VI.” The 19-track project features a lineup of heavy hitters, including BigXthaPlug, Kodak Black, 2 Chainz, and even Bono. One of the most nostalgic moments on the album comes on track 16, “Bein Myself,” which reunites Wayne with longtime Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh. The track marks a special moment in their 20-plus-year working relationship.
Also making noise this Friday is none other than Mariah Carey, who has returned with a rare but welcome single. “Type Dangerous” is a catchy showcase of her timeless vocals. Nearly four decades into her career, Mimi proves she’s still that girl, name-dropping “Balenci” and serving attitude.
Fresh off the success of her “Glorious” album, GloRilla might be hinting at another project. The Memphis star just dropped her new single, “Typa,” which samples Keyshia Cole’s 2005 classic, “Love.” Alongside the track, Glo teased a stunning video that pays homage to the original visuals, even featuring Carolina Panthers star Xavier Legette as her love interest and Keyshia herself making an appearance. Big Glo appears to be stepping into her soft girl era with this one, and it looks like she has another hit on her hands.
