Elon Musk Hit With Drug Use Questions at White House—Here’s How He Shut It Down in Front of Trump [Video]

After a messy online spat, Elon Musk is backtracking—and Trump is taking it in stride. The billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX issued a public apology late Tuesday night after unleashing a string of posts last week that attacked former President Donald Trump over everything from election credit to alleged ties to the Jeffrey Epstein case.

“I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter), hours after deleting his more incendiary accusations. Among them was the suggestion that Trump played a role in withholding files related to Epstein, citing the former president’s past social ties with the disgraced financier.

Musk also implied that Trump wouldn’t have secured the 2024 win without his influence, claiming credit for helping rally support.
The apology didn’t go unnoticed. When asked about it in a brief call with the New York Post, Trump said, “I thought it was very nice that he did that,” but offered no clear answer on whether the two powerful figures have fully patched things up.

Their relationship has seen dramatic highs and lows—once dubbed a “bromance” during Trump’s first term, only to cool amid policy disagreements and personal digs. Now, with 2024 in the rearview mirror and political power in full play, all eyes are on whether the former allies are ready to reconnect or just playing it polite for the cameras.
