The rap superstar made it clear in a recent livestream that there’s no truth to the speculation swirling online. Addressing the gossip head-on, Cardi B explained that her label has been deeply involved in her album process from the beginning.
“I don’t know where the f**k y’all came from with the Cardi turning her album and her label told her no,” she told fans.
According to Cardi, Atlantic Records execs regularly attend her studio sessions—sometimes every two to three weeks, or whenever they feel like dropping by. She emphasized that they fund her studio time and know exactly what she’s working on. So, the idea that she just “turned in” an album out of nowhere is flat-out false.
Cardi also touched on a leaked snippet of one of her songs. While she personally isn’t too attached to it, the track has received strong reactions from fans and her label alike. In fact, Atlantic is pushing her to release it because they believe in the record’s potential.
The rapper shut down accusations that she’s “facing karma,” saying she’s actually gearing up to shoot a music video within days. “When your label is excited for you to drop, that’s always a great thing,” Cardi said.
She has long teased her album, though the release date is being kept under wraps.
