Reginae Carter Goes Off on Carter VI Critics: “Take Y’all Minds Out of the TikTok World” [Video]

Reginae Carter is firing back at critics claiming her father, Lil Wayne, released a subpar album with his long-awaited “Tha Carter VI.”

The actress took to social media with an unfiltered defense of her father’s work.

“You say ‘Carter 6’ is trash. That’s fine. That’s what you want to say. But let me tell you something about my father and ‘Carter 6,’” she began. “This is what I hate about you, kids. The fact that y’all can’t get on TikTok and do a f**king dance to it, that don’t mean that it’s trash, babe.”

Reginae went on to criticize a growing trend in music culture, where the value of an album is often tied to its potential for virality.

“My dad was talking real s**t. It’s stuff on that album that you can hear in 2K, in games, at f**king malls, at all types of stuff. It’s universal, my love,” she added.

Highlighting Lil Wayne’s longevity and influence, Reginae made it clear that Wayne’s artistry isn’t defined by fleeting trends or social media fads.

“Y’all need to take y’all minds out of the TikTok world and get to the real bag where it is,” she continued. “My dad is a lyricist, babe. My dad really talks s**t.” And to those unable to appreciate his lyrical depth, she didn’t sugarcoat her message: “So if you can’t understand it, please move in silence like the…lasagna and get the f**k out of here. Thanks.”

Her impassioned response struck a chord with many longtime fans of Lil Wayne who agree that his legacy stands on lyrical skill, cultural influence, and a discography that shaped a generation of hip-hop. Wayne has not publicly responded to the widespread criticism, though its likely he might as he takes his album on the road.
