Angela Simmons has publicly confirmed the end of her two-year relationship with rapper Yo Gotti during a recent episode of the Angie Martinez IRL podcast on June 18th. Reflecting on her personal journey, Simmons described herself as being in a “growing” and “healing season,” evolving into a stronger version of herself.

Despite the split, Simmons emphasized that she holds respect for Gotti, noting, “I wouldn’t have chose it, but it was what was best.”
She revealed she made the decision to end things without elaborating, sharing how she could have easily entered several other relationships afterward but chose silence instead believing some things are better left unsaid.
Simmons, known for her role on “Run’s House” and founder of Angela’s Cakes, also addressed the pressure men face when dating public figures. She explained that unrealistic expectations often stem from fleeting glimpses on reality TV. “Then you get in a relationship with me and you’re like, ‘Oh, I thought you were like this,’” she confessed, clarifying that those highlight moments don’t reflect her full personality.
On a positive note, Simmons fondly recalled happy memories with Gotti, including a lavish celebration for her 37th birthday that featured a tropical vacation and designer gifts. Though they’ve parted ways, she acknowledges the good times they shared but remains committed to healing and self-care.
