Can Your Main Chick Also Be Your Side Chick? Ask Peter Gunz

Until watching the season 4 premiere of Love & Hip Hop NY, I thought your main chick becoming your side chick is something that only happens on Scandal. It looks like Peter Gunz and Amina Buddafly took it a step further. In case you missed it, allow me to explain. In case you did not watch, Do not read further because there will be spoilers!

Peter Gunz, who’s got quite a few children (one of which is YMCMB rapper Cory Gunz) , has two young children with Tara Wallace, a woman he’s been dating for 11 years. From the beginning of the show we see Tara and Peter embracing and loving on each other. We’re immediately led to believe that they are one big happy family.

Then comes Amina Buddafly, 1/3 of R&B group Black Buddafly. Don’t ask me to name any songs of theirs because like you, I can’t. Amina is now managed by Peter. While when we initially meet her, things appear innocent, we soon find out they weren’t. While at a music showcase, Peter introduces Amina to Tara. Things seem cool, but in a twist to turn this into a Joseline & Stevie J situation, all things go left and we soon find out that Amina and Peter have been sleeping with each other behind Tara’s back. Here enters Amina’s side chick status.

Amina complains that Peter always leaves her alone and never spends time with her. She says that she’s happy he decided to stay in the studio with her instead of go home. She also mentions that when she met Tara,, it took everything in her to not express her feelings. She wants Peter to tell Tara what’s up. Peter, obviously, didn’t think that was a good idea. He also didn’t think picking up his child was a good idea either because while he was frolicking in Amina’s twin bed, his child was waiting outside for his ride. Obviously this didn’t sit well with Tara. Rule #1 To Men: Your side chick should NEVER EVER come between your duties to your family. If you’re going to cheat on your main girl, whatever, but NEVER cheat your kids. It only proves how trash you are and how trash Amina is for allowing it.

Peter finally returns home with a lie he carefully prepared. He says he was in the studio until 4am and his phone died……because it’s 2013 and there aren’t power outlets on every wall in a studio. Tara pulls up a photo of Amina’s instagram where you see Amina laying on Peter’s chest. She asks Peter about it and he lies again. See, you can always tell a man is lying when he tries to convince you that you didn’t see what you thought you saw.  Instead of it being a photo  of Amina laying on his chest, it became a photo of him on the phone, not paying attention, and Amina creeping in for a shot. Fellas, stop letting your side chick post you on social networks. Side chicks actually do this IN HOPES that it makes it to the main chick. Amina is surely exhibiting a lot of side chick behavior.

But in a weird turn even I didn’t see coming, Amina somehow crept from the clutches of sidechickness to the main chick, all within 3 minutes of the show’s ending. Amina was confronted by Rich Dollaz, OF ALL PEOPLE, and warned about her business/pleasure relationship with Peter. Amina drops the bomb that not only does she have Peter’s last name tattooed on her (it’s Pankey, by the way) she also divulges that she and Peter are actually MARRIED!!!

Girl what?!?!

This is where I through my cell phone at my TV in frustration. Let me tell you why all of this is WRONG WRONG WRONG! I’m assuming Peter married Amina so she could get her citizenship and not for any good reasons because it’s obvious Amina is pure sidechick trash. If Peter considered Amina his true wife, there would be no reason to “hide” her. What wife lets her husband go sleep with his “girlfriend” every night? What wife meets you and your girlfriend out in public without causing a scene? Since when is a wife supposed to linger in the shadows while her man tends to his other woman. Lastly, what wife has sex with her husband on that God awful toddler bed?

Did Amina really win or is she just another example of the side chick becoming the main chick?
