After fans and critics alike questioned why two of her biggest singles are featured on the new project, Cardi took to Twitter to clear the air and shut down the noise.

“This will be the last and only time I’m gonna address this,” she began. “’WAP‘ and ‘Up’ are two of my biggest songs. My fans have been asking me to put them on an album, and people search for them on IOP all the time… they deserve a home.”

She also shared her personal experiences with industry pressure and public criticism, which influenced her past decisions.

“I let haters make me not submit WAP for the Grammys,” she admitted. “At this point, I’m giving my fans what they want!”

Cardi also reminded everyone that the inclusion of these tracks doesn’t affect her sales numbers, adding, “These two songs don’t even count for first week sales, so what are y’all even crying about???”

Then she delivered the mic drop: “Do y’all say anything when all these artists pull out their little tricks and ponies to sell out??? Exactly…. Now let them eat cake. Go cry about it!!!”

“WAP” was released in 2020, becoming eight times platinum in the U.S. “Up” debuted the following year and went on to sell two million units in the U.S. While both records were widely successful, many people believe they are too old to be included on her album. However, Cardi’s mind is made up, and the haters will simply have to deal with it.
