Actor and military veteran Braxton Demarco Wells is publicly accusing Mark E. Swinton, the Senior Vice President of Scripted Programming at Tyler Perry Studios, of grooming and sexually assaulting him.
In a detailed Instagram post shared earlier this week, Wells alleges that he was flown from Los Angeles to Georgia under the guise of career advancement.
“Mark E. Swinton, you groomed and raped me while I was under your influence, flying me from Los Angeles to Georgia under false pretenses,” Wells wrote. “You abused your position as Vice President of Tyler Perry Studios — a company that claims to stand for faith — to commit unspeakable evil behind closed doors.”
Wells also called out Perry, alleging the filmmaker remained silent to protect his brand.
“Tyler Perry, you built your empire on the image of a God-fearing man, yet when darkness crept in through your own executive, you chose silence,” he wrote. “You retained a predator in your house and helped cover it up, protecting your brand over a broken human life. That’s not faith — that’s fraud. Yahweh Elohim sees all. He is not mocked.”
Wells alleges Perry was aware of what happened and that an attorney attempted to pressure him into signing a non-disclosure agreement. He is now asking for the NDA to be voided and says he plans to sue for rape, emotional distress, and legal malpractice.
Since going public, Wells hasn’t backed down. His Instagram is now filled with post after post calling out Swinton, Perry, and the alleged cover-up. The accusations dominate his page, with videos, screenshots, and captions detailing his claims.
As of now, neither Swinton nor Perry has responded publicly to the allegations.
These claims follow a recent lawsuit filed by “The Oval” actor Derek Dixon, who says he was assaulted by Perry after meeting him at an event in 2019. Perry’s lawyer, Matthew Boyd, denied that accusation and called it a scam.
“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam,” he said. “But Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
With two separate men now accusing Perry and his studio of misconduct, public pressure continues to mount for both men to speak out.
