On a recent episode of The Baller Alert Show with hosts Ferrari Simmons and BT, industry insider EssoWorld opened up about a major career regret. He says he discovered Cassie, though he ultimately passed on the chance to work with the singer in depth. At the time, Esso claims Cassie was simply too young for the opportunity, but watching her grow into a music and fashion icon has left him wondering what could have been.
EssoWorld revealed he once sent the performer away due to the hard partying he was doing with his team. At the time, Cassie was only 16 and a blossoming model. He assured her that once she was of legal age, he would pick up where they left off.
Known for her 2006 breakout hit “Me & U,” it was after this debut that Esso learned of Cassie’s rise to fame. His revelation highlights the critical role timing plays in the entertainment industry. While identifying talent is a huge part of the business, knowing when to act on it is just as important. He acknowledged that missing out on Cassie was a hard lesson and one that still sticks with him.
