Diddy Enrolls in Drug and Abuse Therapy Programs While Awaiting Sentencing

While waiting to learn his fate in federal court, Diddy is already trying to take steps toward rehabilitation behind bars. The music mogul has enrolled in a series of prison-based programs aimed at addressing his history of drug use and violence toward women.

According to insiders close to the situation, Diddy is participating in the STOP Program, a federal course designed to educate inmates on the prevention of sexual assault, domestic, and dating violence. Alongside that, he’s also receiving therapy and is active in the Dr. Harry K. Wexler drug abuse treatment initiative.

“He’s working hard on bettering himself,” a source told TMZ. “It’s his path toward redemption.”

But not everyone is buying the redemption narrative. Critics argue this could be a strategic move to sway the judge during sentencing. Testimonies from Diddy’s recent federal trial included serious allegations of domestic abuse — most notably involving singer Cassie, along with details of heavy drug use, including ecstasy.

Still, his reps point out that Diddy began his drug rehabilitation even before his arrest last year and has been consistent with treatment since being taken into custody.

Diddy was cleared of the more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges but was convicted on two lesser prostitution-related counts. Prosecutors are pushing for a four-year sentence. Judge Arun Subramanian is expected to deliver the final decision on October 3.
