Nessa Diab is once again explaining why she is standing with Nicki Minaj in her feud with Jay-Z and Roc Nation. And this time, she’s bringing receipts about what went down behind the scenes when the NFL joined forces with the hip-hop mogul’s company.

Diab, wife of Colin Kaepernick, says Roc Nation played a key role in helping the NFL spin the narrative after Kaepernick was pushed out of the league for kneeling in protest of police brutality. According to her, Jay-Z was used as a shield to help the NFL dodge criticism over its treatment of Kaepernick, who hasn’t played a single down since his protest began.
In a lengthy video and tweet, Diab pointed to Nicki’s recent statements about dealing with alleged smear tactics from Roc Nation. Diab said she witnessed the same kind of manipulation when it came to Kaepernick, including efforts to discredit him in the media. She made it clear that Jay-Z never consulted Colin before finalizing his NFL deal.
“Jay Z NEVER spoke to Colin before making his deal with the NFL. He only spoke to Colin AFTER, and Jay knew that Colin did NOT agree with it. The conversation was left in a very bad place,” she tweeted.
Hi everyone. If you’re wondering why I readdressed previous issues with Jay Z, Desiree Perez + Roc Nation recently, it’s because I saw @NICKIMINAJ sharing her experiences of dealing with similar smear campaigns from them and people questioning her. I believe what she said,… pic.twitter.com/ShGFRWhDHP

Diab also debunked a major rumor: that Kaepernick was given opportunities to return. She insists he has never been offered a coaching or playing job by any NFL team, despite what critics claim about supposed workouts or tryouts.
As for the heavily discussed 2019 NFL workout in Atlanta, Diab revealed why Colin pulled out: the NFL’s waiver would have forced him to give up future legal rights. They also refused to make the workout public or allow his team to film, raising red flags about transparency.
Diab says Colin’s grievance against the league was a necessary move to protect his career and others who protested. She even points to safety Eric Reid, who broke franchise records but was let go after standing in solidarity with Kaepernick.
Through it all, Diab argues this isn’t about bitterness, it’s about truth.
