After months of speculation, Deion Sanders is stepping up to provide clarity on the health issue that’s had fans concerned. The University of Colorado head football coach is set to speak at a press conference Monday alongside his medical team, which includes experts from CU Anschutz and UC Health.
The press conference will cover Sanders’ personal health and general updates related to the team. The Hall of Famer has been battling a mysterious health concern for several months and temporarily stepped away from the program in April to focus on treatment. While he’s shared occasional updates, he’s largely kept the nature of his condition under wraps.
That changed slightly on Friday when Sanders shared a hopeful message on social media. “Back and Feeling Great!” he posted, giving fans and the college football world a sigh of relief.
This appearance also comes just months after Sanders inked a five-year, $54 million contract extension in March. That deal silenced talk of a potential move to the Dallas Cowboys and confirmed his commitment to building something long-term in Boulder.
On the field, Colorado is 13-12 under Sanders’ leadership. After a tough 4-8 debut season, the Buffaloes bounced back in 2024 with a 9-4 record and a postseason appearance, though they fell short to BYU in the Alamo Bowl.
Now, all eyes are on Monday’s press conference, where Sanders is expected to finally lift the curtain on what he’s been dealing with behind the scenes.
