Deion Sanders Fired From The Prep Academy He Helped Create

Deion Sanders has been fired from the Prep Academy that he co-founded in Texas after admitting he got into a physical altercation with a head official. Deion claims he didn’t assault the man, but acknowledges that they “locked up” after Deion learned some of the student athletes at the school were not doing well in the classroom.

A rep for the Prime Prep Academy says the school is cutting ties with Deion who is an “ambassador and employee of the school.” The school says that they can no longer have a professional relationship with him following allegations he choke slammed PPA head honcho Kevin Jefferson.

In an official statement, the school never directly addresses why they want to cut ties with Deion, but they do talk about the good things he did for the school.

“Deion’s positive contribution is appreciated and regarded as a laudable example. The school family wishes Mr. Sanders much success in his future endeavors.”

Sanders has discussed in the past that he wasn’t happy about the quality of education at PPA, but the school officials insist they have “complete confidence” in their programs.

I remember when Oprah started her school in Africa, she received so much flack for the mistreatment of the young girls while she wasn’t there. With Deion being the ambassador and co-founder of the school,  I see nothing wrong with him wanting the best for his students. For some reason I doubt he would go as far as choke slamming anyone but if he did, at least his heart was in the right place.
