No Bail for Diddy! Judge Says He’s Too Dangerous to Walk Free

Federal judge denies Diddy’s bid for bail, saying there’s too much evidence of danger and no “extraordinary” reason to let him out before sentencing.

Sean “Diddy” Combs will not be walking free anytime soon. A federal judge in New York has denied the music mogul’s request for bail ahead of his upcoming sentencing, citing serious concerns about public safety and the nature of his crimes.

Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that Combs failed to show any “exceptional reasons” that would warrant release before his formal sentencing. The court found that Diddy still poses a potential danger to others and didn’t meet the high bar required to be granted temporary freedom.

In court documents, the judge emphasized that Combs’ history of violence, especially in private relationships, made it impossible to ensure public safety under any set of release conditions. Simply raising his bond or adding restrictions wouldn’t cut it, according to the ruling.

The decision also called out the disturbing evidence brought up during trial, which included claims of coercion, violence, and control over women involved in prostitution under the guise of consensual encounters. The government alleges Combs went far beyond “swinger” behavior, stating women like Cassie Ventura and Jane Doe were abused and manipulated.

Combs’ legal team tried arguing that his health and the conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center should factor into a release, pointing to budget cuts and reported violence at the facility. But the judge dismissed that angle too, noting that Combs has remained safe so far and that those issues, while serious, don’t meet the threshold for release.

The court flatly rejected the bail motion, stating that Combs didn’t prove he’s entitled to any special treatment under the law. The decision is final—Combs will remain in custody as he awaits his sentencing, which is scheduled to take place in just 60 days.
This latest ruling marks another major legal setback for the hip-hop icon, who’s been facing intense legal scrutiny in a case that’s drawn national attention.
