Skechers is introducing a children’s sneaker designed with a unique detail that has caught public attention.
The “Find My Skechers” collection features a concealed space under the insole, specifically designed to hold an Apple AirTag.
The compartment is built beneath the heel and secured with a screw-on lid, keeping the AirTag firmly in place. The design helps prevent children from tampering with it and makes it harder for someone to remove.
According to the product listing, the feature allows for “easy tracking and comfort of mind.” Sizes are available from toddler through age eight, with prices starting at $52. The AirTag and screwdriver are sold separately.
While the feature is marketed as a way to recover misplaced shoes, it also gives parents a discreet way to keep track of their children. Supporters see it as a safety tool, while critics argue it normalizes constant monitoring.
Skechers is not new to innovative features, but this design stands out as one of the most subtle AirTag integrations yet.
The release adds to the growing discussion about how much tracking technology will be built into everyday items in the future.
