Asha Daniels, former assistant to Lizzo, isn’t letting her lawsuit get dismissed quietly. According to legal docs obtained by AllHipHop, Daniels filed a motion asking a judge to deny Lizzo’s request for summary judgment. Daniels claims Lizzo’s touring company, Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc., exposed her to a hostile environment filled with inappropriate jokes, penis-shaped candy, and even images of male genitalia in common areas.
Daniels also accuses her supervisor, Amanda Nomura, of racial harassment.
“It just wasn’t working out,” one manager allegedly told her about her firing. Another manager reportedly claimed Daniels quit.
Lizzo’s team is pushing back.
“Daniels is not a victim of discrimination or harassment,” said Big Grrrl Big Touring’s lawyer Marty Singer. “She’s a disgruntled former employee with an inflated ego, personal vendettas … and an unquenchable thirst for free publicity.”
Singer added Daniels failed to follow safety regulations and offered no evidence to support her “absurd allegations.”
